Request: I had no interest in this series- I'm not even a TOS fan- and then these two came waltzing in and broke my heart. D: I really just want any fic about them- how they met, how their relationship started, anything! My only real requirement is "no angst" or at least no stories that end on a sad note. I'd also love fix-fic for the end of the episode, but I'd also be happy to read about them at the Academy.

It truly is a little detail, but one of those things that can be fairly important.
Anyway, I have Googled my brains out, as well as dragging a few books down off the shelves, and been directed to a book at Amazon that might actually be helpful, only it won't be available until January... And basically have gotten nowhere.
So, my question is: Would blackout restrictions have still been in effect in New York City, December 1944? What I have found is that these restrictions continued in London until 1945, but I'm wondering if they might have been lifted earlier for the East Coast of the United States. My story works either way, if they were still in blackout mode or not; it's just a matter of hitting the right atmosphere.

My story is set in New York City, in the very near future, but the abduction took place in California (specifically the Inland Empire) in the mid-nineties, between 1995 and 1997 (haven't settled on a year yet).
My character Olivia was a victim of parental kidnapping when she was eleven. She hasn't had any contact with her father since. Now, I can find lots of information on international child abductions and on parental abductions post-divorce, but Olivia's parents were still married at the time (ie, her mother had custody) and she was taken across state lines, but remained within the US. I know that California has a law against parental child abductions, but I can't find out when it was enacted or whether it covers cases where the parents were still married.
So. My gut feeling is that what Olivia's mother did is very, very illegal. However, I don't know how illegal it is, or when it became illegal (when her mother kept her away from her father past a certain number of days?). Any information would be helpful.
Searches tried: "parental child abduction," "interstate child abduction," "child abduction facts," "child abduction California," and various combinations of the phrases "parental", "interstate" and "abduction."

So you've heard everything about the Beatles. They're the best. They top the charts every single time. They're also overrated, overplayed, overexposed, and overanalyzed to death. Yet when you hear a Beatles' song on the radio your first thought would be "Hey, I know this song." You may not know the title, or that they made it, but you KNOW it. It's like before we were even born we were destined to be able to recognize Beatles songs from out of asses, out of our guts. Our of nowhere. Someone said Beatles songs are ingrained in our souls even before we are out of the womb.( The Beatles WHO? )

* I've been reading books, watching documentaries, movies, and interviews about the Beatles, and I came across probably the most frightening and WTFJESUSWHY Beatles' product of all: TWO OF US (title based on a song by Lennon/McCartney), a BBC TV movie based on this premise: "What if John Lennon and Paul McCartney decided to reunite and rebuild The Beatles?" In short it's a FANBOY'S WET DREAM/FANTASY. No shit.
It's...lulz. Some critics liked it, some didn't, Paul McCartney himself liked it (O_O;). I think it's ok, although it def. needs a lot of improvement. Paul's accent is so American sometimes it's painful to watch, but John's actor did a fairly good job. I think. Most of the time John and Paul were just goofing off in the movie, having fun and I was all 'lol ok' until I reached THE ELEVATOR SCENE.
...And you know what happens in elevators.
So John starts hitting Paul playfully and Paul starts giggling and my eyes literally bulged out of my fucking sockets and I'm like AWKWARD TENSION WHERE IS THIS FROM -- and then John's hits became harder and quicker and I'm like OK WHERE HAVE I SEEN THIS BEFORE? next thing I knew John was pinning Paul on the wall and kissing him, and I screamed. Literally. Paul pushes him away and they're grinning and I replayed the scene again just to check if my eyes aren't making this all up, and then I scream again. And then I replay again --
* What I also love about the Beatles is that they were the biggest camwhores. In animal costumes, drag, dorky swimwear, tights, kinky COSPLAY, bath towels, you name it. Here are some of my favourite WTF WHAT IS THIS Beatles' pics, like this gem:

Personal thoughts: Konomi is eeeevil. He knows I can't quit his crack ): I dislike the mountain training, to be frank. I prefer the school setting much better. I miss the Seigaku school compounds and don't mind exploring other campuses such as Hyotei, Rikkai or Shitenhouji. I dislike the new coaches too. I want Ryuzaki-sensei and Sakaki-kantoku and co.
